TURF RAKE MODELS & OPTIONS
The TURF RAKE is a stone rake that levels the target area and removes stone in one pass. A high volume hopper holds the debris, which is elevated from the soil. This stone rake cleans and levels in one process leaving the area ready for seeding, eliminating the need for multiple pieces of equipment.
MODEL 600HD
At 3,800 pounds, the 600HD stone rake is H. Barber & Sons' largest rock and stone rake. It has been successfully used in a variety of turf and soil applications. Cleaning a seven (7) foot wide path the 600HD can clean up to three (3) acres per hour. The two (2) cubic yard hopper can lift up to 3,800 pounds of material and dump its contents hydraulically from a clearance height of nine (9) feet. The TURF RAKE stone rake removes debris and leaves the area ready for immediate seeding. No additional cleanup is necessary.
MODEL 400HD
At 2,700 pounds, the 400HD stone rake is H. Barber & Sons' moderate-size stone and rock rake. It is equipped with a two (2) cubic yard hopper that will lift 2,400 pounds of debris to a dumping height of nine (9) feet. This mid-size model uses the same heavy-duty conveyor and dump components as the 600HD. The 400HD can clean up to two (2) acres per hour.
MODEL 400
Similar to the model 400HD, the model 400 is Barber's smallest stone rake. It weighs 1,900 pounds and can lift up to 2,000 pounds in its one (1) cubic yard hopper. Its hydraulic discharge places material neatly on the ground. Within one (1) hour, the model 400 can effectively clean up to two (2) acres.
STONE PICKING AND SOIL GROOMING APPLICATIONS
STRAFING RANGES AND SPENT MUNITIONS REMOVAL
The TURF RAKE can be used on strafing ranges to remove spent munitions. Currently in use in multiple strafing ranges around the U.S., the TURF RAKE digs up to 6 inches deep into the sand/soil to remove the shells and studs that have become lodged in the ground. By removing the spent munitions, the TURF RAKE prevents ricochetting and possible harm to incoming aircraft. It will simultaneously remove rock, stone, and other debris that could prove dangerous.
The video below depicts how the TURF RAKE cleared a strafing range in a fraction of the time of manual cleaning. Additionally, the operator was able to remain safe in the cab of the tractor.

HORSE ARENA CREATION & MAINTENANCE
The Barber TURF RAKE is ideally suited for creating a well-prepared footing in horse arenas. It levels the soil and removes any stones and rocks brought up through the footing due to frost heaves. Using hundreds of raking tines, it removes stones and rocks from 1/2 inch to 4 inches in diameter. The TURF RAKE can be easily adjusted to rake and clean from 1 inch to 4 inches deep into the soil. The optional finisher assembly at the rear of the machine glides over the cleaned area, leaving a smooth prepared surface.
