12/04/22: Hard Drive Marine’s Landing Craft Boat Has Robotic Legs That Help it Crawl to Shore

Hard Drive Marine’s Landing Craft is a boat unlike any other that you’ve probably seen, as it has robotic legs that help it crawl ashore and push back into the water. This 31-foot vessel comes equipped with a Honda Marine bF225 outboard motor designed to transport transport small vehicles, including ATVs, in addition to the front ramp with the hydraulic spikes. It can be operated both manually and remotely.

The company says that the boat has feature assists to make loading and unloading a breeze, even in choppy waters. Aside from the Landing Craft, they also make several other boat technologies that help eliminate the need for docking and ferrying on rugged, remote coastlines, including the Jax Cab, Maxhelm as well as the Maxgate. This particular design works for loading and unloading, but stops the vessel from running and performing well at speed when water conditions are choppy or rough.

Conventional landing craft has one inherent drawback: to achieve a beach landing they use a low chine and a shallow deadrise to get closer to shore. This design works for loading and unloading but stops the boat from running and performing well at any speed when water conditions are choppy or rough,” said the company.
