The £1.8 million (US$2.4 million) contract also covers the provision of technical support, training, sensors, and spare parts.
The 3.6- by 0.9-metre USVs will feature low-observable technology that will help reduce their radar cross-sections and thermal and noise signatures. The vessels will also be capable of being partially submerged, thus further reducing their visual outline when seen on the surface of the water.
